Tillamook County Pioneer Museum

Tillamook has a diverse community. Different types of people came to Tillamook and called it home. In the early days there were Tillamook Indians, later came Captain Gray to the Tillamook bay and many others since then. All these people and events that took place gave Tillamook a rich history. Tillamook County Pioneer Museum preserved all these great memories and showcases them for anybody who wants to enjoy and learn from them.

The museum started with a collection of only four hundred items. Now the collection has grown to thirty five thousand items. There are ten thousand photographs as well. There collection is big and diverse. They have pre historic specimens, as well as modern day items.

The community is very active. They organize a lot of events through out he year. They just had an art show this September to help the Tillamook Animal Shelter. They took this opportunity to create awareness about the Tillamook County’s shelter projects. They have another art exhibition to spotlight the arts of the people who have been affected by breast cancer personally or through family or friends.

They have a store with some nice collection of books and a library with a collection of over three thousand volumes.
